In a conventional brushless motor, a permanent magnet rotates in synchronization with the rotation of a rotor. The permanent magnet is fixed to the periphery of a shaft, which is rotatably supported by a housing. Rotors are provided in an interior of the housing, and a stator is disposed in the housing so that a magnetic field from the stator actuates the rotors.
Such a brushless motor includes an inner-rotor type, wherein the shaft, on which the permanent magnet is fixed, is inserted in a rotor core. As compared to a brushless motor of an outer-rotor type, wherein the shaft is rotatably supported by the housing, in which the permanent magnet is fixed to the outer periphery of the shaft, the inner-rotor type of brushless motor is lighter and thinner, and can have higher performance and higher efficiency.
As the rotation of the rotor must be detected by the stator, a Hall element is generally used as a rotation detection element. However, the Hall element is expensive, and the number of Hall elements is limited. Therefore, a method of detecting the rotation of the inner-rotor type of brushless motor with a single Hall element is under investigation.
In the brushless motor, the rotation detection element generally uses the Hall element. Therefore, there are limits to downsizing and achieving lower cost of the motor.Recent changes in the stability of proteins and their conformational flexibility.
